Hi All- The 10U Rochester Slammers will be holding their tryouts on Sunday, April 7th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the gym at the Rochester Rec Center. Any girl who was 10 or under as of January 1st, 2013 is eligible to tryout. If your daughter is interested in playing, please send her NAME and Date Of Birth to coach Dennis Ward(ward1@metrocast.net). Rochester Girls Softball will once again be offering a FREE pitching clinic for its Spring rec league players.
When: April 27th, 2013 Where: Rochester Rec Center Gym
There will be two sessions, from 11am-1pm and 1pm-3pm. The session you are assigned to will be decided after reviewing all the registered players ages and skill levels.
In order to sign up, you must email rochestergirlssoftball+Pitching@gmail.com with your daughter's name, pitching skill level (beginner, intermediate) and Spring Division (Rookie, 10U, etc). Sign-ups will close on 4/19/2013. Space Is Limited, so don't delay.
COACHES WELCOME! This is as much for you as it is for the players! As important and difficult as this skill is for girls to learn, it's much harder when Coaches can't help. Come to watch, listen, and learn.
The clinic will be taught by Megan Biddle. Megan was an All-Conference, 4 year starting pitcher at UConn. While at UConn she won 35 games, pitching 392 innings, striking out 304 batters. She also batted .303 for her career, and is 5th all-time with 12 home runs. Additionally she has been an ASA First-Team All-American and a member of the Women's Professional League. She currently is a pitching coach in Massachussetts.

Sign-ups for the 2013 Rochester Girls Softball League Rec Season start in less than two weeks!
Sign-up Dates & Times: - Saturdays, 9:00am to 12:00pm
- March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th
- Thursdays, 6:00pm to 8:00pm
- March 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th
All at the Rochester Rec Center.
To save time, you can download your registration form and medical release to fill out before you come:
Online Registration: Once again RGSL will be offering online registration. Online registration will run from 3/1 - 3/30 only.
Cost:
T-Ball (4-5 yrs old): $40.00 Rookie Ball (6-8 yrs old): $70.00 10U* (9-10 yrs old): $95.00 12U (11-12 yrs old): $95.00 14U/16U (13-16 yrs old): $95.00 * Please Note: New this year, 10U rec will be moving away from 11" safety balls to the Babe Ruth standard 11" hard balls.
Additional Information: - For more info on signups, see the full signup flyer.
- Each player receives a team jersey and visor. Parents must provide solid gray pants (available for purchase at time of registration).
- As part of your registration fee, you will be given 5 calendars that you can either sell for $5.00 each or turn them in yourself to be entered in a daily raffle for the month of June.
- Each additional girl of the same family will receive a $10 discount. Discount is not available with online registration.
- Keep an eye out for important league dates! Click HERE.
- For 10U and below, parents can request players to be with specific coaches or players, however, these requests MUST be made by 3/30 - NO exceptions.

Hi Everyone-
Rochester Girls Softball League will be holding a fundraiser at Tropical Smoothie Cafe on May 23rd, from 5-8pm.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe is in the Lowe's and Kohl's plaza in Rochester.
20% of all sales go directly to our league. As you know, we have to replace our batting cage. Last year's Halloween snow storm destroyed our old cage. The cost of replacing this is both expensive and unexpected. This fundraiser has the potential to go a long way in helping us get the funds we need to cover the costs of our new cage.
Please promote this with your family and friends. If you are on Facebook, "like" Rochester Girls Softball League and share our wall post about this event. The more people we get to go, the more money we will raise. There is no need for a voucher or coupon to present when ordering - anyone that goes to Tropical Smoothie that night will count towards sales for our event.
